Ceramic Artist Sarah House: New Orleans-based Contemporary Art

New Orleans based ceramic artist Sarah House creates contemporary works inspired by natural fractals. House uses various hand building and slip casting techniques to construct sculptural ceramic art installations as well as functional ceramics in porcelain and stoneware.

House earned her BFA in Ceramics/Glass from Tyler School of Art, and her MFA in Studio Art from Tulane University. She has been as Artist in Residence at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts, Baltimore Clayworks, The International Ceramics Studio in Hungary, Tainan National University of the Arts in Taiwan, and The International Ceramics Research Center in Denmark. House has been recognized for her work across the USA as well as internationally. She has participated in numerous solo, juried, and museum exhibitions including at The Baltimore Museum of Art, The Delaware Art Museum and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Sarah House is a Windgate Fellow, a Nyberg Fellow, and has received other honors including a Baker Artist Award. She continues to create in her New Orleans Studio.
